After months and months of not DIY-ing it, it finally dawned on me that if I wanted my home studio renovated, clearly I would have to hire someone to do it for me.  I’m not quite sure what took me so long to come up with that idea, but once I did, someone was out the next day to paint the walls and finish the floors, and viola!  It is complete!  And just in the nick of time, as I was expecting a very special client…

In the fall, I was honored to work with local jewelry artist, McKenzie Mendel, photographing her new fall/winter line.  McKenzie’s jewelry is unique, modern, and well…just beautiful!  We had a great time capturing her newest pieces, and I was excited to work with her again, this time in my new studio.

McKenzie participated in the Muse Art Walk, part of the World Muse Women’s Conference here in Bend.  She created a beautiful 1920’s styled headband, inspired by a gesso by Margaret Mackintosh.  She had a distinct vision for a portrait featuring her headband and we collaborated to come up with the images below.

McKenzie’s exhibit is on display at Bend Modern on Wall Street in Downtown Bend. If you didn’t get the chance to see it during the First Friday Art Walk, you can still see it at Bend Modern any time this week. Also be sure to check out her full line of jewelry at www.mckenziemendel.com.

In honor of the long awaited studio renovation finally being completed, studio headshots are on special for the month of March.
